Student Employment Guidelines & Procedures
To be employed in a campus job, the following actions are required by you:
- Complete the online application at studentemployment.king.edu.
- Click on Employment Forms.
- Return the completed application to the Financial Aid Office.
- Visit the Financial Aid office for available job openings.
- After reviewing the listings you can then contact the department representative/supervisor for an interview. If you are a returning student, please contact your previous supervisor.
- Before starting your work assignment, you will need to complete all of the following required documents in the Financial Aid Office:
- Student Employment Contract - Be sure you have completed the Student Section and signed the FERPA statement on the back. The supervisor will need to complete the Supervisor Section.
- I-9 - For first time employees at King College you will need to complete Section 1 only on this form. Refer to the lists on the back of the I-9 for acceptable documents you will need to bring to Financial Aid to be photocopied. (The two most common forms of identification are a driver's license and a signed social security card.)
- W-4 - First time employees will need to complete this form for tax withholding purposes.
- Payroll Authorization Form - You have two options for receiving your pay: Direct Deposit into a checking or savings account (requires a voided check or information from the bank institution that includes your name, account number and routing number) or a Visa Payroll card (works like a ATM/Debit Card-there is an application that needs to be completed).
- It is your responsibility to ensure all documents are completed and submitted to the Financial Aid Office.
REMEMBER the Financial Aid Office must receive all required documents prior to your first day of work. This is mandatory to ensure your payroll will be available to you.
